Psychic Hearts is a Shoegaze/Post-Punk project, formed in Ecatepec State of Mexico in 2010 by Erick Arevalo and Javier Mejia. ‘Holy Blood’s’ main elements are rhythm boxes and hard drums with reverberation, giving the music a dark and mechanical sound, accompanied by strong waves of fuzz and distorted bass.

The main influences of Psychic Hearts during composing this album were Lowlife, Skywave, Ceremony and mainly the album "Garlands" by Cocteau Twins.

‘Holy Blood’ has been recorded between March 2012 and July 2015 at the Psychic Hearts studio. The lyrics are written by Erick Arevalo, except the song "Hade" which is originally composed by the Belgian cult band "Vita Noctis" and the song "Niebla" which narrates a fragment of a book with the same title written by Miguel de Unamuno.

For 'Holy Blood' Psychic Hearts were collaborating with Danae Deco (vocals in "Hade"), Rogelio Serrano "Equinoxious" (synthesizer in "Freedom of Love") and Mauricio Ram who accompanied them at live shows.

The additional track "Heart of Darkness" is the first song of Erick Arevalo’s solo project "El Ojo y la Navaja" (Minimal-Wave & Synth-Gaze) formed in February 2017.
